This Saturday December 19 we will be at Bottlemixx at Creedmoor and Strickland. Sunday we will be at the Hop and Shop Market downtown Raleigh at City Market from noon until 5pm.  Merry Christmas everyone.

21st Amendment - Prohibition repealed on December 5

Celebrate the repeal of Prohibition on Saturday December 5 at Hoppy Holiday Bazaar at Neuse River Brewing on Pershing St.  We all have our Gin Chocolate Bars to help you with the celebrations along with Brew Chews,  Toffee and Stir Sticks
Neuse River Brewing are also collecting food for the Food Bank so bring some along.
Santa will be there from  too 3 to 5 for the kids.
Hop on down and do some of your Holiday shopping from local vendors.

Upcoming Events

Where you can find us the next few weekends.

Starting the Saturday November 28, we will be hosting "Small Business Saturday" at the warehouse which we share with Neusiok Wines on Departure Drive, N Raleigh.  We will have some chocolate for sale but can take your orders for Christmas.

Saturday December 5, we will be joining Neuse River Brewing for their Holiday Bazaar from noon to 5:00pm.   Bring food donations as they are collecting food for @foodbankcenc.

December 19, we will be at Bottlemixx on Creedmoor/Strickland  and Sunday December 20 we will be downtown Raleigh at the Hop and Shop Market in City Market.

Ready for Thanksgiving?

Join us for a wine tasting at 5020B Departure Drive, this Friday from 7 to 9.  Need some wine or chocolates for gifts, well this is the right place to be.  See you at Neusiok Wines this Friday November 20th.

Saturday November 21 we will be at Bottlemixx on Creedmoor/Strickland from 2:30 to 5:30 selling our chocolates.

November 28 - Small Business Saturday

For the first time, we will be participating in Small Business Saturday with our partners - Neusiok Wines.  After you finish your Mall Shopping, why not stop by the warehouse and shop some more.  There will be wines to buy and of we will have chocolates and we can also take your orders for Christmas.

Toffee

All our toffees and brittles are made in small batches so when you see it buy it as it doesn't hang around for very long.  Here is a photo of our Campfire toffee from yesterday, it too sold out.  Bet it was all those marshmallows and hickory smoked salt on top!  Definitely smelt like a campfire.

Catch us next

Start your Halloween fun at Bull City Ciderworks and catch us there from 4pm.  We'll have Brigadeiros, truffles and Brew Chews and a limited batch of our new Campfire S'mores Toffee. It has graham crackers, marshmallows, toffee with a layer of chocolate and Hickory smoked salt.

We are thrilled to be part of the Drafts and Carafes event in Knightdale on October 17 from 4pm to 8pm. Bring a chair and enjoy the music, food, beer and wine and of course GerDan Chocolates.

Thank you to all who voted for us.  This tiny chocolate company is honored.  Wow … wow.

Beat the heat

To beat this heat, we created these ice pops using grapefruit (juice and skin) fresh lime juice, sugar, water, a fresh hop and Touche IPA from Double Barley Brewing in Smithfield.  They are very refreshing with the grapefruit and lime juice and then you get the bitter taste from the IPA.   The green hop (not shown in this photo) adds a fun decoration to this pop.   Perfect for this hot weather.

It is hard to keep a blog, Facebook, Twitter (@gerdantweetz) and Instagram up to date everyday.  If you are interested in what we are up to….. check our Instagram account as it is the easiest one for me to update on a regular basis. That being said, I will continue to update this blog, just not as frequently.

Stay Cool

Thank goodness we no longer do the Farmers' Markets anymore as it would be some chore trying to keep chocolates cool in this weather.

Enough of that, we will be in "Durm" this weekend.  Saturday we will be at Bull City Ciderworks to celebrate their 1st Anniversary.  There is lots going on all next week, so come on out and join in the celebrations.
We will have Brew Chews made with 3 of their ciders, a brigadeiro and possets made with cider too.
A posset is a lovely light mousse like filling that we put into our chocolate cups.  Posset is actually a medieval beverage made from hot milk and ale or cider.  We hope to have a Rhiz up, Steep South and a strawberry cider too.  It also happens to be Father's Day on Sunday so Brew Chews or Posset cups would make a great gift for Dad.

End your work week at BottleRev RDU

Today Dan will be at BottleRev RDU doing a chocolate beer pairing.  Actually it will be chocolate and candy pairing.  He will have various Brew Chews made with different beers and some truffles and of course the latest offering, a posset cup.  This posset cup was made with Yeti chocolate stout and cream.

If that doesn't pique your interest, then how about a Brigadeiro made with Limoncello IPA? 

There will also be Brew Chews - Suit & Thai made with coconut and chillies and a sour IPA which we added Lime and Grapefruit to make it sour.

Saturday May 9

This Saturday May 9, there will be a fun day at Bottlemixx as they are having a fund raising event for Second Chance Pet Adoptions.  We'll be there too selling our chocolates and Brew Chews for Mothers Day.  We'll have our boxes of 9 chocolates - Sea salt caramel, pistachio brigadeiro, Irish Creme brigadeiro, wine soaked fig truffle, hot strawberry truffle and more.  See you at 2:30pm.

Mothers Day

Yes, Mother's Day is right around the corner and we will have boxes of chocolates for sale.
If there is a particular flavor that you would like, just drop us an email and we will include it in our selection.  Don't disappoint Mom, order her some GerDan Chocolates.

We will have pre bagged brew chews and our  stout selection of Brew Chews is pretty "special" we think.

~ Creme Brûlée - vanilla spiced stout from Southern Tier
~ Rubaeus/Black Chocolate - This is a 'double decker" brew chew with Rubaeus - a Raspberry Ale from Founders on top and Black Chocolate Stout from Brooklyn Brewery on the bottom.
~ And last but not least - Sexual Chocolate from Foothills Brewery.

Valentines Day

It is February already and that means that Valentines Day will soon be here.
We will have chocolate bars and boxes of chocolates for Valentines and will be selling them at Bottlemixx on Friday February 13.  For those who prefer caramels, we will have some special Brew Chews for the occasion.  More details nearer the time.  see you then.
