Yes,we are still here

Sorry for the "radio silence" but there has been a lot going on.

We had a fun and very successful Easter and
are  now gearing up for Mother's Day.  Our S'mores Toffee is taking on a life of it's own,  we cannot make it quick enough.

Our chocolate bars are popular as ever and we hope to add new flavors to our current line up
Bees Knees - Based on a prohibition cocktail,  our bars are 70% chocolate with juniper berries, lemon zest and local honeybee pollen

Gin & Tonic - 70% chocolate with lime zest and juniper berries.

For Mother's Day we had some seasonal flavored Bonbons -
This one had a white chocolate and fresh lemon ganache on the top and the bottom layer was dark chocolate and fresh ginger encased in a dark chocolate shell with bright yellow splashes.

This Blue one had fresh blackberry confiture and a cabaret Ganache.

This red and pink splashed bon bon had fresh Johnson County strawberry puree in a dark chocolate ganache.
PB&J - peanut butter and apricot jam in a milk chocolate ganache.
This pretty bonbon had honey and local honey liquor in  dark chocolate ganache.

We had our Zombie Bunnies and chocolate Chicks too.

Good Food Awards winner


Well our feet are back on the ground now after a great weekend in San Francisco where GerDan Chocolates picked up a Good Food Award for our Gingerbread Caramels.
Needless to say we are both thrilled.  First time entering a product, first time winners…..how awesome is that!

The ceremony took place in the Herbst Theatre which is where the United Nations Charter was signed back in June 26, 1945.
 Winona Laduke, activist and environmentalist spoke, Alice Waters and Nell Newman placed the awards around the winners neck  and after the ceremony, we got to taste some of the winning foods and beverages and  talk with other winners.  It was a grand night.




Here's to 2017 being a great year for this tiny Company - GerDan Chocolates.  It is certainly off to a great start.

Bull City Food and Wine Soiree

Join us this Thursday at Bull City Food & Wine Soiree Bull City Food & Wine Soiree
and do some Christmas shopping.  There will be approximately 30 local vendors there with plenty of gift ideas and a chance to support small businesses.  GerDan Chocolates will be there too so see ya Thursday at the Rickhouse, 609 Foster Street, Durham starting at 5:00pm.

Gingerbread Caramels

We are so proud that our Gingerbread Caramel is a finalist for a Good Food Award in January.  
These delicious caramels are seasonal and will be available next month in time for the Christmas Holidays.  We make them in small batches and so there will be limited quantities of these gems.
Fresh Ginger, molasses, cinnamon and local cream/butter…. like biting into a fresh slice of gingerbread.

Dia de los Muertos
